What To Do to Further Your Career After Graduation

If you have been unable to secure employment after graduation, you may want to redefine what your looking for, and only after that will you start to explore other options.

Firstly have you considered going further out of your home region too look for work? If this is not viable to you due to family commitments then try looking for a way you can expand your skills more locally; courses are a good idea of course, but it’s up to you whether or not you want to study again.

Another option is to take a similarly related job of a lower position if you really want to work for a particular company; if you choose this option you will have to start preparing and gather some information about the company before approaching them for the job they may have advertised within their company within the same field, or in a similarly related one, just remember not to lower yourself too much, get a job that closely reflects your worth.

You can also try and add weight to your C.V by further expanding your education to include postgraduate study, such as taking a masters course within the same field or similar to the degree you already have; as a part time course though.

Employees may be more interested in hiring you if you have that extra weight, as it shows you wanted to go further within that field and can work hard to achieve your goals to get what you need; albeit you will be working part time most day’s and studying 1 or 3 day’s a week.
